in a do or die game three, the Gators game up short in the first baseball state championship in school history. The Trojans jumped on the board in the bottom of the 3rd with two runs after a controversial hit by pitch call and a bunt fielding error to give Northwestern a 2 run advantage in the third.

The Gators would cut the lead to 1 in the top of the 5th as freshman Alex Urban would blast a one run homer in to right to make the score 2-1. But the Trojans would not go away as they added another in the bottom of the 5th.

The Gators could not answer and the Trojans placed two more in the bottom of the second to seal the game.

The Gators conclude the season at 29-7, region 5-5A champions, district 8 champions, and 5 A lower state champions.
