River Bluff High School
Blythewood High School
The River Bluff bowlers went 10 and 0 in the season finale against a formidable opponent in the Blythewood Bengals. While the Gators got off to a strong start winning game one by 160 pins, game two was a completely different story. While a couple bowlers saw their scores slip a little, Justyn McCann was able to set a new personal record. With some late heroics by team veterans Austin Jones and Paul Horn, the Gators were able to pull out a 5 pin win.
A similar nail biting finish went into the first game of Bakers. The Gators had some spare troubles to start while the Bengals got off to a fast start. Before anyone knew it, the Gators were down by a ton. In the back half of the game, freshman Sean Pollworth was able to set up Jones and Horn who once again stepped up in the 9th and 10th frames snatching another win for the Gators.
With the clean sweep tonight, the Gators take first place to win the regular season and finish 54-6. Their only losses came against defending league champion, Dutch Fork. With the regular season in the books, a Baker format End of Year Tournament is scheduled for Thursday, February 25 at Anchor Lanes. Both Dutch Fork and River Bluff have earned first round byes in the tournament and should they each win their individual matches, the two powerhouses will meet once again in the tournament finals for a highly anticipated rematch.
