River Bluff High School
Lexington High School
We completed our annual Dam Swim for Drew with our friends over at Lexington and other swimmers from around the state. We had over 200 swimmers attend to help honor Drew Smith’s memory. Drew was a 12 year old boy who was killed by a drunk boater. Because of this terrible tragedy, many laws have been enacted to help make all waterways in South Carolina a safer place. This race is help raise awareness of these new laws.
The race began on the Irmo side of the dam and ends on the Lexington side. All our swimmers had a great race. David Rypkema came in first overall with a time of 42 minutes! Great swimming David!!
