The River Bluff B-team football team kicked off two nights of rivalry football against the Lexington Wildcats with an impressive 28-0 victory Thursday night in The Swamp.
While both teams were able to move the ball throughout the game, the Gator defense seemed to get stronger the closer they got to their own goal line, keeping the visiting Wildcats out of the end zone for four quarters.
Meanwhile, the Gators’ offense put points on the board in each quarter, through a grinding running game that was complimented nicely by an effective passing game.
The Gator B-team travels to White Knoll Thursday, October 5th for another Lexington County showdown. Their game versus the Timberwolves is set to kick off at 5:30 PM.
The Gators got on the board first with a touchdown and added the extra point for a 7-0 lead. The quarter ended with this same score.
River Bluff struck again in the 2nd on another touchdown drive, making the margin 14. At the half, the Gators led the Wildcats 14-0.
The third quarter saw more of the same back and forth action, but, again, River Bluff’s JV squad was the only team to put points on the board. Once more, they increased their lead by 7 with a touchdown and successful PAT. At the end of 3, the Gators led the Wildcats 21-0.
River Bluff capped off the game with one more touchdown in the 4th, spreading their scoring evenly across the quarters. When the horn sounded, River Bluff’s B-team had earned a 28-0 win over Lexington.
