River Bluff completely dominated an outmatched Pelion High Panthers football team Friday night. The two Lexington District 1 schools met on Military Appreciation night in The Swamp on the campus of RBHS. From the opening kickoff to the final gun, the Gators proved too much for the Panthers in every facet of the game, winning by a lopsided score of 62-0.
The Gators found a variety of ways to put points on the board – three rushing touchdowns (Riley Meyers, Jackson Stone, Brooks Bentley), 3 passing touchdowns (Stone to Kendall Long, Stone to Tyson Trottier, Stone to Austin Outman), a fumble recovery and return for a touchdown (Austin Glad), a blocked punt and recovery for a touchdown (Casey Franco), two safeties, and a field goal (38 yarder by Braeden Stiles).
The Gator offense amassed 393 total yards while the Gator Defense held Pelion to only 14 yards on the night.
The win capped off a beautiful and patriotic night in The Swamp, in which current, former, and retired members of our armed forces were recognized prior to the game.
River Bluff travels to Lugoff-Elgin next Friday to take on the Demons. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm.
