Boys Varsity Swimming · Men’s Swimming Beats White Knoll at Wednesday’s Tri-Meet

River Bluff’s Men’s Swim team swept the competition in dominating fashion on Wednesday night at a tri-meet involving White Knoll, Lugoff Elgin, and Camden high schools.

The Gator 200m Medley Relay teams took the top three finishes in that event. The team of Robert Nieders, Bailey Eichhorn, Matthew Swain, and Matthew Chong grabbed first place with a time of 2:06:51, while Gators Eduardo Braga, Matthew Rypkema, Grant Lohr, and Evan Nieders took second at 2:14:20. Coming in third at 2:27:95 was the Gator team of Ryan Ezekial, Mason Young, Flynn Jeffcoat, and William Brock.

Eichhorn (2:24:27), Braga (2:26:72), and Diesel Bouche (2:27:52) took the top 3 spots in the 200m Freestyle and Rypkema (2:34:04), Colton Chaplin (2:52.06), and Brock (2:58.25) captured the top 3 finishes in the 200m IM for the Gators.

In the 50m Freestyle, Chong (26.76) captured first and Lohr (29.65) took 3rd, and 8 Gators finished in the top 10. River Bluff also finshed 1-2-3 in the 100m Butterfly with Swain (1:08.65), Eichhorn (1:10.69), and Young (1:16.22).

The Gators grabbed the top 7 spots in the 100m Freestyle with R. Nieders (58.19), E. Nieders (1:06.42), and Brock (1:08.20) earning the top 3 swims. Gators Lohr (5:12.99), Chaplin (5:13.42), and Ezekial (5:25.12) finished 1-3 in the 400m Freestyle.

In the 200m Freestyle Relay, the RB team of Chong, Swain, Eichhorn, and R. Nieders finished first with a 1:47.71 time. Coming in second with a time of 2:04.98 was the Gator team of E.Nieders, Cope, Bouche, and Chaplin.

R.Nieders (1:12.45), Braga (1:13.56), and Rypkema (x1:18.32) took the top 3 places in the 100m Backstroke. Chong (1:13.46) and Swain (1:13.87) finished first and second in the 100m Breaststroke.

The Gators also swam to the top 3 spots in the 400m Freestyle Relay. Coming in first was the team of Rypkema, Braga, Lohr, and Chaplin at 4:30.45. In second was the team of Brock, Young, Austin Roberts, and Bouche (4:47.17) and in third was the team of Cope, Brooks Sample, John Flanagan, and Arnold Jiang (5:11.80).
